These properties control the connection management. You can access them from the data source pane.
Dialog items description:
- Total number of connections used by this data source - Represents the number of connections used by this data source. BitKinex automatically assigns each registered unprocessed request to one of these connections and starts the processing immediately. An optimal number of simultaneously opened connections can significantly improve the overall performance.
- Number of connections reserved for browsing - BitKinex uses all available connections for any operation which has to be performed on the data source. Transfer requests can therefore easily block the whole connection set. In such case there is no connection available for a simple directory scan. This option allows users to reserve a number of connections for non-transfer requests.
- Number of initially logged in sessions - You can instruct BitKinex to automatically log in the specified number of sessions by browse window creation. By default, BitKinex connects to the server and tries to login only if there are some requests queued. Increasing this value can save the time needed during the later login sequences.
- Number of cached scan requests - BitKinex rescans a directory content each time the user selects a folder in the file tree or chooses the refresh menu item. To switch between directories very quickly, press either the PgUp or PgDown keys. BitKinex remembers all the selected items and tries to retrieve their contents as soon as there is a free connection available (the last selected directory will be rescanned first). This option limits the number of directories BitKinex registers for a later scan, therefore reducing the network traffic.
