To keep files in a synchronized state can pose a troublesome problem. Identifying which files have been modified, added or deleted since last update can take a lot of time. With BitKinex you can perform this task efficiently in just a few steps.
- Open the browse window(s).
- Select the source file(s) and folder(s).
- Step into the destination location.
- Push the "Extended transfer" button.
- Start the synchronization by pushing the appropriate transfer button.
- Set the desired "Operating Mode":
Choose "Synchronize" if you want to perform a one-time synchronization. Selected files from the source folder will be transferred to the destination folder. At the same time, files which do not exist at the source location will be removed.
The "Mirror" mode allows users to periodically synchronize the contents of the source and destination locations. If you choose the mirroring mode BitKinex will periodically scan the source folder(s) for files which have changed since the last run and transfer them automatically to the destination location. The timing parameters control the delays between these runs.
In case you only want to find files which do not match you can use the byte-by-byte file comparison.
